Key Populations Uganda Annual Community Dialogue.


Through the community Dialogue we held at our office premises, LGBTIQ youths focused to sharing experiences on to Sexual Reproductive Health issues, rates of sexually-transmitted infections are increasing and these infections disproportionately burden LGBTQ people.
In addition, transgender women continue to face high discrimination, from the experiences shared, Sex worker's shared no far from the same Huddle's faced.
#HIV was at the center stage throughout the dialogue coupled with STDs , young people require more access to Sexual Reproductive Health information for to take more informed decision about there sexuality

United Nations Population Fund Regional Youth Consultation



During the United Nations Population Fund-_ESARO Regional Youth Consultation that happened in Johannesburg, Key Populations Uganda, team leader Ivan represented KPU being a youth led Organization and having him as an expert in Sexual Reproductive Health Rights.
(i)We co-defined Youth-Led Accountability,
(ii)shared stories of different Youth Led Accountability  approaches and had young people sharing the barriers in holding decision makers to account.

The Together We Speak Civicus Annual Campaign



On 18th November, Key Populations Uganda with Happy Family Youth Uganda organised a dialogue with refugees youths tackling the Sustainable Development Goal 16 Creating harmonization among youths with refugees counter parts , under the CIVICUS World Alliance #TogetherWeSpeak campaign. Starting.
The dialogue enabled sharing experiences from youths especially the refugees youths from Congo and South Sudan, about their experiences, while in camps and the huddles that they go through to

Half Yearly Report January to June 2018



Key Populations Uganda (KPU) is a nonprofit support Organization for LGBTIQ And Male Refugees Sex worker people focused on the Sexual Health, advocacy, Safety and Security, Community mobilization and HIV/AIDs awareness and prevention for al LGBTIQ and Male Refugees Sex workers Persons. Formed on 5th March 2017 first as a group led  by LGBTIQ, who are coming out as well as men and women who already out or having feelings or loneliness or isolation due to sexuality or sexual orientation.
This half-yearly report covers the period from January-June 2018 where key activities and its achievements are highlighted. During this period KPU has faced a number of challenges widely hurdles and blockade, threats among others – to which some have continued and these created obstacles to the deadlines as well as Activities targets. Despite all these challenges, the KPU team was committed to implement the planned activities with success.
The KPU Activities conducted
        i.            VCCT LGBTIQ Community Outreach,
      ii.            Dialogue on Treatment as Prevention among LGBTIQ Youths,
    iii.     Organized LGBTIQ Community Score Card dialogue on HIV/AIDS , with support from Theta  Uganda,
    iv.            Organized LGBTIQ Peers Counselors training Organized LGBTIQ Peers Counselors training
      v.            Co- Organized the LGBTIQ Valentine’s Day Special Fundraising event
    vi.            LGBTIQ Needs Assessment Dialogue with support from Reach out Mbuya.
We believe that KPU will accomplish the designated activities with remarkable achievements at the policy level through the continued support in the future.

Key Populatons Youths Community VCT Outreach




Key Populations Uganda in partnership with Triam  Medical Center organized a Voluntary Testing and Counseling Outreach for the Youthful KPs enabling the access to health services by the young Key populations free health services were  provided such as:-
HIV test and treat (TT) .
STI screening and treatment .
Lubricant and condom distribution.
Interaction and safe sex couselling sessions through teaching the KPs youths how
HIV transmission

Local Initiative Community Score card for #HIV AIDS Service Delivery For Key Populations


 

 
Key Populations Uganda with Support from Theta Uganda held a Local Initiative Community Score card for #HIV AIDS Service Delivery monitoring Workshop at Kawaala Health Center 3.
Among the issues evaluated are:-
HIV Prevention Services , Condom Accessibility, Lubricants availability and Accessibility, PEP and PREP services availability and Accessibility, Antiretroviral Therapy care services and Sexual Reproductive Health services availability and accessibility within the locality and to the Key and Priority Populations.
