Key Points About HIV/AIDS Transmission




HIV is spread only in certain body fluids from a person infected with HIV. 
These fluids are blood, semen, pre-seminal fluids, rectal fluids, vaginal fluids, and breast milk. 
 HIV is spread mainly by having sex or sharing injection drug equipment, such as needles, with someone who has HIV.  
To reduce your risk of HIV infection, use condoms correctly every time you have vaginal, oral, or anal sex. Don’t inject drugs.

Key Populations Grass Root Organisations Assessment Meeting

VCT OUTREACH WITH COLLABORATION FROM REACH OUT MBUYA PROJECT




On 13th we carried out an outreach in the areas of Kitintale together with Kampu Liberty Uganda as our main focus is for Key Population persons, Kp Uganda as an Organization managed to mobilize LGBTIQ Youths to come and attend voluntary for the HIV/AIDS testing, and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases, free counseling services were offered.
Other usable materials like lubricant and condoms were distributed to the attendees on addition to the health talk and discussions on having safe sex through counseling and how one can detect the different Kinds of Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections among others.

Making It Possible For Key Populations To Participate in Ending HIV





  1. Food, especially in form of a balanced nutrition is important and has come up regularly as an issue faced by many beneficiaries
  2. Housing, came up in many instances as a way to stabilize one’s location, safety, security, sense of belonging and worth.
  3. Transportation to clinics where and when beneficiaries have to attend follow-up management, HIV testing or assessment for regimen changes.
  4. Allocating the right resources to go to core HIV-related services.
  5. Provide holistic and mental health services targeting Key Populations.
  6. Provide leadership opportunities for Key Populations to own skills in preventing and participating in activities ending HIV.

LGBTIQ Moonlight Outreach In Collaboration With Namugoona Orthodox Hospital

In the Photo above the youth demonstrates how, one can properly and effectively use a condom, this outreach took place 10:00pm were the participants got free health services like HIV test ,Sti treatment, Adherence counseling to those who reacted HIV positive,condom and lubricant distribution among other services, Thanks to our partners the Orthodox Hospital Namugoona.

HIV -AIDS Youth Community Engagement Dialogue




































More discussed such as - Increasing community based treatment- through expansion of home based care
Evidence shows that strengthening the linkages between health facilities and the community improves
adherence and retention in care. Further, this may contribute towards promotion of disclosure and
reduction in stigma. A connected system also reached more people, especially youth and children, and increased awareness about TB and HIV. Specially, civil society proposes the promotion of home-based
DOTs, adherence support, nutrition, awareness and linkages/referrals.
